Role Summary

The Cloud Engineer (Azure Logic Apps) designs, builds, and operates cloud-based integration and automation workflows using Azure Logic Apps. You will partner with engineering, data, and business teams to connect systems securely, improve reliability and observability, and deliver scalable workflow solutions that support day-to-day operations and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Azure Logic Apps workflows (including triggers, actions, and connectors) to integrate SaaS applications, internal services, and Azure resources.
  • Implement integration patterns such as request and response, event-driven workflows, scheduled automations, retries, and exception handling with clear operational runbooks.
  • Develop and maintain reusable components, standards, and templates for workflows, including parameterization, configuration, and environment promotion practices.
  • Set up monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting for workflows to ensure reliability, performance, and timely incident response.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization patterns, including least-privilege access, managed identities where applicable, and secrets handling best practices.
  • Automate deployments using Infrastructure as Code and CI and CD pipelines, ensuring repeatable releases across environments (dev, test, prod).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, estimate work, communicate progress, and deliver integrations that meet SLAs and compliance expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, integration engineering, or platform operations, with delivery and support ownership for production workflows.
  • Core Skills:
    • Strong experience building and operating workflows using Azure Logic Apps, including connectors, triggers, actions, and error handling patterns.
    • Solid understanding of APIs and data formats (REST, HTTP, JSON) and common integration approaches (webhooks, polling, messaging).
    • Strong fundamentals in identity and security for integrations (authentication, authorization, secrets management, and least privilege access).
    • Experience with monitoring and incident troubleshooting, including logs, alerts, and run history analysis.
    • Proficiency with Git-based workflows and basic DevOps practices for deployment and environment management.
  • Certifications or Licenses: Not required.
  • Language: English fluency required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Logic Apps Standard and environment-based deployments, including CI and CD practices across multiple environments.
  • Experience with Azure integration services and components such as API Management, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, Storage Queues, and Key Vault.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tooling (Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform, Azure CLI, PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with hybrid integration approaches (on-prem connectivity patterns) where applicable.
  • Azure certification(s) such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or other relevant credentials.

Tools, Tech, and Methods

  • Primary Tools: Azure Portal, Visual Studio Code, Azure CLI, Git and code review, CI and CD pipelines.
  • Tech Stack (optional): Azure Logic Apps, API Management, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, Storage, Key Vault, Azure Monitor and Application Insights, Bicep and or Terraform.
  • Methodologies: Agile delivery, reusable workflow standards, automated deployments, monitoring and alerting, reliability and cost optimization practices.
  • Documentation: maintain clear workflow diagrams, connector and credential assumptions, configuration references, and operational runbooks in shared documentation (Notion, Confluence, Google Docs).
  • Security or Privacy Tooling: follow access controls, secrets management, encryption, and secure data-sharing practices for confidential business data.
